We are an independent Myanmar civil society group and
we are on a mission to defend the right of Myanmar people to
democratic representation in all international forums.

The military junta that is currently illegally occupying the institutions of national government in Myanmar is not, by any definition, a government.

When foreign governments engage with the military junta as such,
this risks significant harms for the people of Myanmar, including:

  • decisions being made unlawfully on behalf of the people of Myanmar;

  • legitimising the military junta and assisting their attempts to appear as a government;

  • emboldening the junta to continue to commit atrocities against the people of Myanmar; and

  • assisting the military junta in its (to date unsuccessful) quest to take full control of the country.

We are calling on all foreign governments, intergovernmental institutions and other international organisations to ensure that the people of Myanmar are represented by the democratically elected representatives,
not by the military junta.

Further, we call on the international community to help us hold the military accountable for the genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity that they have committed against the people of Myanmar with blanket impunity.

The people of Myanmar have endured incredible suffering at the hands of the military, but continue to stand strong and defend ourselves and our future.

We are working towards a new era of
federal democracy respect for human rights equality diversity and inclusivity
transparency accountability collective action peace building liberation from exploitation and oppression

We know our vision is possible and we need the support of the international community to help us make it a reality.
